Fall-front secretaire in mahogany and gilt bronze, Louis XVI period, attributed to the circle of Riesener.
Description
Fall-front secretaire in satinwood-figured mahogany, ebony stringing and matt gilt bronze. Fall front lined with burgundy morocco leather tooled with gilt fillets. Interior fitted with drawers and pigeonholes in sycamore.
Lower section with two doors opening onto shelves. Gilded top-shaped feet. Work of very high quality, circa 1785.
