How does an antique furniture valuation work?
We welcome you by appointment in our gallery in Lausanne, or we can travel to you for large pieces. The valuation takes into account the period, the style, the state of conservation and the provenance of the piece. A written report can be provided on request.
Do you buy antique furniture from private individuals?
Yes, we buy directly from private individuals, estates and collectors. Contact us with a few photographs and a brief description — we will reply within 48 hours with an initial indicative valuation.
Do you offer a delivery and installation service?
We handle delivery and placement in Suisse and neighbouring countries, using carriers specialised in fine furniture. Careful packing, transport insurance and installation in your home are included, on quotation.
What is the difference between restoration and renovation?
Restoration aims to return a piece to its original state, respecting the materials and techniques of the period (waxes, antique varnishes, original marquetry). Renovation modernises the appearance without historical constraint. At Rigaldo, we favour heritage restoration.
Do you work beyond Lausanne and the Suisse romande?
Yes, we work throughout Suisse as well as in neighbouring France for valuations, appraisals and significant purchases. Do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a visit.
